We teamed up with Fred Perry Malaysia and The Grumpy Cyclist to organize a casual ride out over the weekend along the popular Hulu Langat cycling trail. The event was part of a global series by Fred Perry to celebrate the rich culture of cycling and the similar rides have taken place in other key cities like London, New York, Tokyo, Paris, Munich, and Singapore.
One of the highlights of the rides is the limited edition cycling patch designed by local artists from each cities to showcase the coolest cycling spots around the world. For the Malaysian edition, riders will receive the cycling patch designed by Faz Adhili, a full time graphic designer who is also a competitive cyclist. Inspiration for the patch design was taken off from the hilly backdrop of the route that passes through the lush greenery and Langat Dam.
Close to 20 cyclists gathered for the 40-km ride that was led by Aaron Chan and his team. It was not exactly an easy breezy morning ride with several uphill stretches and bends but the aim of the event was really to have fun on the way up to the finishing point where coffee truck from The Grumpy Cyclist awaits.
It was a cool misty morning after a much-welcomed downpour from the night before so everyone took their time to ride up at their own pace. The patches were then handed out to the riders upon reaching the finishing point where they hung out, chatted and mingled over sandwiches and coffee to mark the end of a great ride.
For those who wants to get their hands on the limited edition cycling patch, it will be given with every purchase of Bradley Wiggins collection from now onwards at Fred Perry Authentic Shop Pavilion KL & 1Utama. While stock lasts.
