Today in NYC, Converse unveiled their plans to update some of their most iconic sneakers, starting with the classic 1920s All Star that has been revamped into the Converse All Star Modern. The classic basketball sneaker has been updated with lightweight circular knit uppers, Nike Hyperfuse tech, full length phylon soles, TPU-fused toecap as well as neoprene split tongues. In short – these are extremely lightweight and comfortable. The All Star Modern will be available in both Hi and Ox versions and in in Black, Action Red, Lucid Green, Soar Blue and White colourways.
To mark the occasion, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Mark Parker and Tinker Hatfield – aka HTM – teamed up to work on a limited edition version. This also marks the first time the HTM collective has released a non-Nike branded product. Instead of the regular version’s circular knit uppers, they used premium goat leather uppers with debossed details. Black and white colourways will be available, and the only place where you can get them is through NikeLab.
The Converse All Star Modern sneaker collection will be available from June 16th onwards at Converse retail stores, Converse.com and select retailers worldwide.
The Converse All Star Modern HTM sneaker will be available on June 9th exclusively at NikeLab.com and NikeLab retail stores only.
