New Balance proudly celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its iconic style 576 in 2008. International celebrations will include the launch of a commemorative “Purple Rose” and “Celebration Package” in February 2008.

The first batch of the 576 20th Anniversary collection consists of three styles that are as stunning as they are eye-catching. Inspired by kings, and designed for those who rule, the magnificent “Purple Rose” is the perfect 576 expression of nobility, with a meticulous embroidery pattern from heel to toe. The other two styles are the “Celebration Package” comprising Gold and Silver shoes, both of which are presented with festive gift-wrap ribbons. Fashionable and highly collectible, these three styles of 576 also feature the ENCAP® multi density midsole for which New Balance has become respected around the world.

The timeless 576 started life as an excess stock of advanced sole units. In the mid-1980s, a footwear designer in Boston started using these sophisticated soles as the basis for a visionary new style—and the 576 was born. Now recognized as one of the world’s most classic sneaker styles, the 576 will celebrate its official 20th Anniversary in February, 2008, with the launch of the “Purple Rose” and “Celebration Package”.
