PUMA will soon be releasing their much anticipated collaboration runners with Sneaker Freaker Magazine. The Blaze of Glory is based on the popular Disc Blaze, sharing the same silhouette and much of the aesthetics. In search of a special pair of kicks to work on, Sneaker Freaker dug deep into PUMA’s illustrious archive for months until striking gold. “Although it look eighties, the Blaze is actually a nineties runner. Check the chunky plastic straps and the jack-up heel. This shoe was the future!”, comments Sneaker Freaker founder/Editor, Simon “Woody” Wood.
The kicks feature a combination of mesh, nubuck and satin. They will also come with shark-tooth sneaker jewelry, a choice of insoles as well as multiple laces. “The goal was to create a truly distinctive sneaker while honoring a concept with an understated and subtle execution”, says Woody.
The Sneaker Freaker x PUMA Blaze of Glory is limited to 575 pairs worldwide and is scheduled to drop at selected retailers on April 26, 2008. Will be a Sole What? exclusive in Malaysia and Limited Edt exclusive in Singapore.
