LAKSA INSTANST NOODLES
Call me a noob, but I honestly didn't know of the existence of such fancy instant noodles until last night ...
I've pretty much left instant noodles alone since my student days. I've got a few of the instant cup noodles on standby for "emergencies" when i'm working late, but honestly, i'm 6 foot 5 ... I would need to eat like 3 to get full, and even then the quality of the "meal" is not satisfying. Would rather not be lazy and walk down to the food court, which thankfully is open 24 hours.
So enter this packet of "premium" Laksa noodles which for some reason or another came into my possession.
That pretty much describes what it is offering. Normally i'm used to the cheapo instant Laksa noodles that don't include the coconut milk.
And Laksa without coconut milk, well, is basically like crappy instant noodles really.
Included in the packet are two large satchets, one containing the spicy laksa paste, and the other what I assume to be the coconut milk in powdered form.
However, one thing that it doesn't come with is that satchet of dried veg/shrimp etc that often accompanies many other types of cheaper instant noodles.
The instructions on the back suggest that prawns, vegetable, eggs etc are "optional" ...
Without anything else, this Laksa looks pretty sad.
The noodles are Ok, and the laksa soup is rather nice as far as instant noodles go, it really does taste like the real thing.
BUT it really is bare. You really need to add some veg or whatever in there, or you're just having noodles in fancy water.
Would I consider buying these types of premium noodles again?
If they're all like this then no.
Too much effort for something so-so. Would rather be lazy and consume the cheapo cup noodles, or put in a bit more effort and make some pasta.
