Nike 'Air Force 1 Lux Max Air'
Yes, that's the name on the box. Surprisingly, these new AF1s - part of the 30th anniversary series - don't come over as mashed up as the name implies.
Just like the white-on-white 3M and black-on-black denims we recently previewed, these sport a very basic Air Force 1 colour scheme but juices them up nicely with details.
What most will find most striking about these AF1s is the full length visible air units in the soles. Nike couldn't visually show "Air" in the originals back in the '80s, which led to the development of the Air Max line, so here we are 30 years later and we get to see what could have been if the technology was available at the time.
You would think the inclusion of full lenth air would make the classic AF1 soles even chunkier than they normally are but thats not the case here, as the midsole is somewhat halved, making them apear slightly lower profile than usual.
Also, as with all shoes that Nike adds the Lux tag onto, these feature really nice leather in comparison to what you would normally find. Finally, apart from subtle details such as embossed logos and concealed stitching, the ankle strap is made from 3M reflective fabric.
All in all, this is a really nice pair of Air Force 1 Highs that blends the iconic heritage of the shoes along with futuristic elements.
Available soon at Limited Edt Vault.
